Neurorehabilitation education and training

The fifth sub-project of the Swiss Neurorehab project aims to build the best educational solutions and develop an organic, evolving curriculum for neurorehabilitation, focusing on standards of care and incorporating validated digital technologies. The proposed training will be consistent with the Swiss training system, integrating current and future courses. It will pay particular attention to addressing the needs of the three levels of the healthcare system:

  • Macro-system: This includes decision-makers, politicians, federal agencies, and insurance systems.
  • Meso-system: This encompasses all healthcare professionals, including nurses, physical and occupational therapists, neuropsychologists, physicians, and speech therapists.
  • Micro-system: This includes patients, caregivers, and other support staff (e.g., kitchen staff, technical support).

The sub-project will implement a dissemination strategy to consolidate the foundations of neurorehabilitation as a critical service for Swiss society. This strategy will involve national congresses for all stakeholders (patients’ associations, healthcare professionals, insurers, and policymakers) and workshops for the continuous education of patients and caregivers.

To ensure the successful integration of praxis in neurorehabilitation, it is essential to train all stakeholders involved in the healthcare system—from patients to policymakers, including all institutions in between, along with their professionals and leaders. The proposed pedagogical engineering will bring together researchers, practitioners (including the next generation), and beneficiaries.
